When we are in community with other believers, we care for each other’s needs, share our lives, trust and obey God’s commands and gather together. We simply love one another. Small groups are a way for us to be the Church and we are all part of a movement to love others that don’t know Him.

What is Biblical Community?

We encourage biblical community through small groups. Small groups are typically made up of 8-12 people that live near each other and gather weekly to connect, learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. Small groups meet in group members’ homes and participate in study and discussion which may include books or video. In a small group, members experience belonging, accountability and care.

At Connection Pointe, we want you to grow in your relationship with Jesus. We were created to be in community with God and others. By taking part in a small group, you’ll have intentional relationships with others and together you will learn biblical truth. As you live out these truths, you will show the love of Christ to those in your circle of influence.

Why Community?

In Acts 2, at the beginning of the Church, we see people meeting in homes—eating food together, praying together, studying God’s truths together and caring for one another. The early Church would gather (like we do for weekend services) but they knew they were also called to be the Church together in smaller community.

After Jesus had died on the cross and rose victorious from the grave, He spent 40 days on earth and gave His disciples a final command before He ascended back up into heaven. Some of the final words of Jesus from Matthew 28 were , “Go and make disciples…”

As Christ followers, this is the calling, for all of us.

Small groups are a great vehicle for us to learn with and from each other how to FOLLOW JESUS and how to reach those in our circle of influence for Christ.

How Can I Be Part of Community?

Taking part in biblical community can happen in a number of ways. You and your neighbors may connect and begin meeting in your neighborhood. Groups of parents that often spend time together on the ball field can form a group. Others are participating in groups at work with their coworkers.

If you need help connecting to a group, fill out this form and a member of the Adult Ministry Team will assist you in finding a men’s, women’s or married couples group in your area of town.
