Prayer Team
Prayer Team Leaders are mature believers entrusted to intercede for the students, staff, and ministry of CP Students. They intentionally pray for students by name, for the movement of the Holy Spirit in services, and for God’s work throughout the week. These leaders may receive specific prayer lists and are occasionally present in services to pray over what God is doing in real time. Their faithful intercession helps create a spiritual foundation for everything that happens in the ministry.
Host Team
Host Team Leaders serve during our 9:00am and 11:00 am Middle School services on Sunday mornings or our 6:30pm services on Thursday evenings, helping create a welcoming and organized environment for students and guests. These leaders are not currently serving with a small group but desire to support the Student Ministry team in meaningful ways. They help facilitate check-in before and during service, greet students, and give tours to new students and families—ensuring everyone feels seen, valued, and connected from the moment they arrive.
Engagement Team
Engagement Team Leaders serve as committed mentors who build lasting relationships with students and guide them in their walk with Christ. They lead a weekly engagement group during service, facilitating meaningful discussion and helping students apply biblical truths to their daily lives. These leaders intentionally invest in students for at least a year—ideally longer—walking with them through both everyday challenges and spiritual growth. They also partner with co-leaders to ensure every student feels known, supported, and discipled.
Student Buddies
Student Buddy Leaders are caring and patient leaders who come alongside students with special needs to ensure they can fully participate in ministry. Each leader is paired with a specific student, staying with them throughout the service to provide individualized support and connection. They help meet the student’s needs—whether that’s taking a short walk, offering sensory tools like fidget toys, or creating a calm space when needed. Student Buddy Leaders also coordinate with Engagement Leaders to communicate any ongoing needs or helpful adjustments, helping every student feel included, valued, and cared for.
Outside Group Leaders
Outside Group Leaders invest deeply in students’ spiritual growth by leading a group that meets beyond Sunday services—either in their home or at the church. These leaders are committed to walking with students through life and faith, facilitating meaningful discussion and discipleship for 60–90 minutes each week. They may use provided curriculum or prepare their own, creating an environment where students can ask questions, grow in biblical understanding, and build authentic community centered on Christ.
Grade Shepherds
Grade Shepherds provide relational care and encouragement to help students stay connected to a Christ-centered community through middle and high school. They oversee a specific grade and gender, building relationships with students and parents, following up with those who are less engaged, and celebrating milestones in students’ lives. Grade Shepherds partner with CP Students staff and Engagement Leaders to ensure every student feels known, supported, and prayed for throughout the school year.
Ministry Support Team
Ministry Support Leaders serve alongside the Student Groups and Discipleship Director as dependable, action-oriented partners who help “get things done.” They assist Student Group and Discipleship Directors by handling prep work, setup, and other practical tasks before and during services—freeing staff to focus on connecting with students and leading well. These leaders may also step in to support or fill in for group leaders when needed.
Event and Project Team
Event and Project Team Leaders serve as flexible, hands-on leaders who help make ministry happen. They lead in setting up and tearing down events, preparing materials for initiatives, and assisting with event response tasks such as organizing and recording response cards. This team embodies a “whatever it takes” attitude—whether folding t-shirts, packing giveaway bags, or loading a U-Haul for camp—so that every event and outreach runs smoothly and effectively. The Event and Project Team does not have set hours but steps in for key events and initiatives as needed to support the ministry’s mission.
