Who does God say I am?
There are many things in the world telling me who I should or shouldn't be, but what truly defines me? Is it my career path? Is it my social media following? Is it what my family thinks of me? There has to be more than this, a deeper purpose, right?
We live in a world telling us what defines success and true identity, but God's Word has something different to say. So who does God say I am?
"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." - Ephesians 2:10
"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." - Jeremiah 31:3
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." - 1 Peter 2:24
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." - Galatians 5:1
"I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me." - John 15:15
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." - Deuteronomy 31:8
A CHILD OF GOD
"See what great love the Father lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" - 1 John 3:1
